and visibly using SPF30+ sunscreen. |

Where
practical, scheduling activities outside the hours of 11am to
3pm (Daylight Saving) or 10am -2pm (Eastern |

Standard
Time) when the sun is at its most damaging. |
| |

 |
Considering
the availability of shade at the venue, and if considered necessary,
consulting with the host club for |
| |
the
provision of additional shade during the regattas. |
| |
|
|
When organising uniforms for Zone representative sailors, the
Association will consider the use of The Cancer Council's
SunSmart guidelines in designing or re-designing uniforms eg.
loose-fitting, tightly woven fabrics, long sleeves, collared
shirts, broad-brimmed or legionnaires hats. |

| The
NSWSSA will communicate this policy and actively seek to promote,
encourage and support sun protection at all times to members,
parents and organisers by: |

Communicating
the importance of SunSmart policies in its newsletters, notice
of races and communications to |
| |
participating
clubs. |
| |

Including
SunSmart information in posters, newsletters, brochures and
over the public address system at regattas. |

Representative
Zone Team members have a responsibility to be good role models
for safer sport practices- |
| |
including
sun protection- and their role in encouraging others. |
| |

Hats
for the Representative Teams will be broad-brimmed with The
Cancer Council Logo. |

protection information will be made available at regatta registration. |

possible shade will be provided at regatta venues. |
