Official Launch of the Sabot Operations Handbook and the Announcement of the MILO Sponsorship for the Association.

Executives from Nestle' were in attendance for the Official Launch of the Southern NSW Sabot Sailing Association Operations Handbook and Training Manual and the Announcement of the MILO Sponsorship for the Association.

Nestle' will be play a major part in supporting young sailors as they develop and grow into the Sailors that will continue to take Australian Sailing to the world.

Motor Cruiser, 'State of the Art'
The guests boarded the magnificent Motor Cruiser 'State of the Art' (whose time was donated by 'State of the Art Charters' and skippered by Phil Barnett) to watch a large group of young sailors race short courses and welcome the Sponsorship.

Hosting the day were Nigel Nattrass, President of the Southern NSW Sabot Sailing Association along with Jim Wells, and Adam South, Sabot Measurer and YA youth Representative for Sabots.

Nestle' executives in attendance were, Tim Atton, Pete Di Pino, Katherine Atkin, Sherrill Page, Maria Gissing, Caroline Lange, Regina David, Mark Johnson, Scott Kirk and Glenn Shipton.

Also aboard was John Winning, past Sabot champion having commenced his sailing in Sabots in 1962 and going on to become the Vaucluse Club Champion in '64-65. Also Michael Chapman, 16 ft and 18 ft Skiff Champion, Lee McCourt from the YANSW, Judy and Karl Evans from the Abbotsford 12 ft Skiff Sailing Club, Robert Wark, Commodore Drummoyne Sailing Club and Lindsay Curtis, DSC Publicity. Whilst the program was being launched, a throng of young and enthusiastic Sabot sailors from 200 clubs sailed short courses wearing the Green T-shirts supplied by MILO. Past Sabot Juniors, Simone Dean, Jane Mulligan, Erin Nattrass and Jye Murray, praised the concept and shouted encouragement to the young sailors on the water claiming that they wished they were out there with them. Having completed their time in Sabots, they have all moved on to other classes competing at a high level in Lasers, Ynglings, 420's and 470's.

The Sabot clubs represented at the event were Drummoyne Junior Sailing Club, Dobroyd Aquatic Sailing Club, Bayview Yacht Racing Association, Hunters Hill Sailing Club, Georges River Sailing Club, Abbotsford 12 ft Skiff Sailing Club, Greenwich Flying Squadron, Lane Cove 12 ft Skiff Sailing Club and Yarra Bay Sailing Club.
